By trtfshng84 / September 19, 2018 / Bluegill, Celebration Park, Micro Fishing, Micro Fly Rod, SunfishHad only a short amount of time to fish after work today. No problems, able to cruise along on the standup longboard, make it to the local pond, and catch a fish or two with the Micro Fly Rod! Fun times… even got to practice casting the variant of the Perry Poke we like using… [read more]

Was out and about the other day; short on time but not short on fishing fun! Decided to take the 4wt fly rod that had the Rio Trout Max shooting head and Rio GripShooter running line and a conveniently tied Foam Grasshopper already on the leader to Bethany Lakes. Bite was slow but always good… [read more]

Having fun pond hopping local ponds and getting lots of practice casting the OPST Commando Head that we like using on our 5wt Fly Rod. Able to demo different casts that we use while in the Field. Been revisiting different ponds we have fished previously but cannot recall when we last fished them lately. This afternoon decided to check out Anglers Cove the catch and release pond by Top Golf in Allen. Lots of construction has things clobbered and the water seems lifeless… did see some “fishy” activity but looked like bait… [read more]

Decided to fish the pond by the Cinemark Theater in Allen this morning. Looks like it is called Cottonwood Trail… been a while since we fished it last. Was not sure what would be biting. As it turned out, it was Bass, Bluegill, and Sunfish. Scrappy fighters that put up a great fight on the… [read more]

Fighting a cold this past week but finally got to wet a line this morning. Decided to bring the Redington 4 Weight Rod with the Ross Flystart #2 Reel this time. A fun rod we like to use in local ponds during the trout stocking season. For the pond, we went to the Village Trails… [read more]

Been itching to test the DIY Tanago Rod we made using an Ice Fishing Rod blank and a Wine Cork. Looks like it works on the little Bluegill and Sunfish. Next step is to try catching a little minnow!
