More Tinkering Around with Micro Fly Rods

By / February 23, 2015 / Micro Fly Rod

More tinkering around with Micro Fly Rods. This time making a handle using wine corks. Once done, going to dry fit the Ice Fishing Rod Blank before working on the Rod Guides. Hope this one turns out as good as the Micro Fly Rod I and Micro Fly Rod II.

Concept looks like it will work….

Corks are in place and glued… letting it dry now.

Glue is dry, time to sand and shape!

This micro fly rod project of yours has got my flu clogged brain working–well, almost! There's a turned wood rod handle and a 3'6" black solid fibreglass rod tip in my shed. I might have to bring these bits together as a micro fly rod. I like your use of the wine corks for your rod handle. Excellent recycling.
Cheers,
Steve.

Thanks Steve, have one more rod to make using a lighter ice fishing rod blank. Not sure when I will get to it but will eventually get around to it. Good luck on the project!

Hi,
I tried to upload a few photos onto the site of my local trout fishing here in Victoria, Australia but no success– the problem is on my end. I repeatedly tried to send them to you along with an email but my ISP is having a few hiccups. Technology is wonderful when it works properly!
I'll keep working on it.
Cheers,
Steve
