Fished Bethany Lakes Saturday morning. Able to get a round in before it rained. Planned to fish with the Tube Popper Fly; gave it about an hour with only three missed strikes to show for it. Did some scouting at Bethany Lakes in Allen to see if the Bass were on their beds this past Saturday. Sure enough they were; tried using the Mouse Tail Fishing Fly; it worked but the hook gap was too small for consistent hook ups. Tried other fishing flies before settling on a Clouser Minnow! Able to make the run to Bethany Lakes Friday afternoon. Bite was slow on fishing flies at first. Did see others doing well with bait and Power Worms. Bite picked up later as the trout started feeding on something hatching as well as bread and other floating baits. Olive Near Deere did well. No strike… [read more]

Stopped by Bethany Saturday for a fishing quick trip; only caught one little Rainbow Trout on an Olive Near Deere. Had other strikes but did not hook up. Still a fun time!
